Mastopexy

Procedure performed for elevation of the breasts with ptosis (fall) in which can be used several techniques in accordance with the excess skin and the breast volume.

During this procedure it is possible to adjust the size of the areola, which often is increased in these cases.

Often, we use silicone implants in this procedure to increase the volume of the breast during the same surgery.

It is performed under general or epidural anesthesia with sedation, eliminating prolonged hospital stays. Generally the patient remains in the recovery room for 6 to 8 hours, and then can go home.

Usually the recovery is fast, with little pain and discomfort in the first three days after surgery, the which are controlled with appropriate medications. You can resume normal activities in about 7-10 days, but to exercise a longer period is needed.

We use a compressive bra for 30 days after surgery in order to speed recovery. Lymphatic drainage are recommended, usually starting on the fourth day after surgery.
