Liposuction

Consists in the removal of fat accumulations  in the body with the use of vacuum-assisted cannulas. This removal has limits, since it must respected body physiology removing the maximum of 7% of body weight (actual recommendation of the Braziliam Society of Plastic Surgery).

It is indicated for various body areas such as abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, outer thighs, arms and chin.

This removed fat can be used to fill some other areas which are needing some volume to improve appearence, such as the butt or thights.

It is performed under general or epidural anesthesia with sedation, eliminating prolonged hospital stays. Generally the patient remains in the recovery room for 6 to 8 hours, and then been released to go home.

The recovery is fast, occurring with little pain, and allowing return to work generally within 7 to 10 days, according to the activity performed.

We use a compressive garment for 30 days after surgery in order to accelerate recovery. Lymphatic drainage are recommended, usually starting on the fourth day after surgery
