Otoplasty

Procedure performed for the correction of prominent ears, starting from the age of 7, in which we treat the specific alteration found in each case. It can be performed under local anaesthesia with or without sedation.

It is still possible to correct some ears defects, such as shell hypertrophy or anti-helix deletion, making a more aesthetic ear.

It is also possible to perform the correction of torn ear (ear lobe cleft) together, or not, with otoplasty.

The recovery is fast, with edema (swelling) for about 15 days. During the post operative period it is recommended to use a molding track only for sleeping, to avoid trauma to newly operated ear.

We use dressing only the the first 24 hours, not being necessary to use thereafter.

Usually the postoperative is easy, with little local discomfort, easily controlled with common medications.
