Abdominoplasty – Tummy tuck

Procedure indicated for patients with large excesses of abdominal skin with associated fat, usually required for patients after pregnancy.

Allows resection of all grooves located below the umbilical region and the plication of the rectus abdominal muscles (suture of the muscular wall for increased definition in the body contouring).

The scars are usually located very low in the belly, in an easily concealed region by the bikini outfit. This procedure is usually associated with liposuction for complete results.

It’s also possible to correct umbilical hernias in the same procedure, often present after pregnancies.

It is performed under general or epidural anesthesia with sedation, eliminating prolonged hospital stays. Generally the patient remains in the recovery room for 6 to 8 hours, and then can go home or to a hotel with the help of our staff.

Usually the recovery is fast, with little pain and discomfort in the first three days after surgery, which are well controlled with appropriate medications. The patient can resume normal activities in about 7-10 days, but to exercises a longer period is needed.

We recomend the use of a compressive garment for 30 days after surgery in order to accelerate recovery. Lymphatic drainage are recommended, usually starting on the fourth day after surgery.
