Video-Assisted Temporal Lifting
Procedure performed through an incision in the hair line, by which, with the aid of an optical and adequate laparoscopic instruments, traction takes place from the side portion of the brow with resection of this excess skin. Thus, it is possible to cause an periocular rejuvenation, reducing the need for resection of eyelid skin (blepharoplasty). But usually is realised in association with blepharoplasty when we have large amounts of skin.
It is performed under local anesthesia with sedation, eliminating prolonged hospital stays. The patient usually remains in the recovery room for four hours and is discharged after that.
Normally the recovery is quick with reduced edema (swelling) located around the eyes. The patient can resume normal activities in about 7, but to exercise a longer period is needed.
No need for the use of dressings, either drains.
