The first is conchal hypertrophy, an excess of cartilage in the central portion of the ear. By carefully reducing and repositioning this structure, we help the ear rest closer to the head in a more balanced and discreet position.
At the same time, we address the antihelical fold—the natural upper curvature of the ear. When this fold is underdeveloped or absent, the ear can appear flat and overly prominent. Using highly precise internal suturing techniques, we recreate and refine this contour, restoring definition, elegance, and a more natural ear shape.
In addition to addressing the upper and central ear structures, special attention is given to the earlobe. In many cases, the earlobe itself may project outward—a condition known as prominent earlobe deformity—which can be corrected either as a standalone procedure or in combination with other otoplasty techniques to create a smooth and harmonious contour.
All surgical access is performed through carefully positioned incisions on the back surface of the ear, making the resulting scars virtually imperceptible. These incisions are concealed within the natural crease behind the ear, preserving the appearance of the visible front surface.

A Fast and Comfortable Recovery Journey

The procedure generally takes between 60 and 120 minutes.
Thanks to modern surgical techniques, recovery is remarkably quick. Most patients are able to return to light work, school, or daily activities within 3 to 5 days. Mild swelling and bruising are temporary and usually improve significantly within the first two weeks, gradually revealing the new ear contour.
Comprehensive post-operative care plays an essential role in achieving optimal healing. During the initial recovery period, a protective dressing is used to help maintain the new ear position and protect the treated area. External sutures are typically removed around 10 days after surgery, at which point patients generally feel much more comfortable.
Simple recommendations, such as wearing a protective headband while sleeping and avoiding direct sun exposure during the first months, help ensure the longevity and quality of the final result.
