Brachioplasty

Brachioplasty is a procedure designed to remove excess skin from the upper arms and is often combined with liposuction to eliminate small localized fat deposits. Depending on the degree of skin excess, scars may extend from the armpit to the elbow, always planned to remain as discreet as possible.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia or epidural anesthesia with sedation, without the need for prolonged hospitalization. Patients typically remain in the recovery room for 6 to 8 hours and are discharged on the same day. Recovery is generally quick, with mild discomfort and pain well controlled by medication during the first three days. Most normal activities can be resumed within 7 to 10 days, while physical exercise requires a longer recovery period.

The use of a compression garment for 30 days is recommended to support healing and accelerate recovery. Lymphatic drainage sessions are also commonly initiated on the fourth post-operative day.

For 15 years, Dr. Gustavo Pereira Filho Clinic has been dedicated to excellence in plastic surgery, combining science, innovation, and artistic sensitivity to deliver natural-looking results.
