MD Liposculpture
Liposculpture is one of the procedures that most allows the plastic surgeon to express artistic sensitivity and bring aesthetic concepts to life, creating a sculpted and harmonious body contour. Medium Definition (MD) Liposculpture is an advanced liposuction system designed to reveal an athletic abdomen by enhancing the underlying musculature. During the post-operative period, we utilize compression garments and customized compression pads to further accentuate muscle definition.
The technique consists of liposuctioning areas with localized fat deposits using vacuum-assisted cannulas, followed by fat grafting into areas with volume deficiency. This approach makes it possible to remove unwanted fat from the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, and saddlebag areas while simultaneously enhancing the buttocks through fat transfer, creating a balanced and refined body contour.
The harvested fat undergoes a filtration and preparation process before being placed into syringes and carefully grafted into the areas requiring additional volume. This method allows for buttock reshaping while also improving or even eliminating certain areas of cellulite.
According to published studies, a portion of the grafted fat is naturally reabsorbed over time, with an estimated rate of approximately 20%. However, because the transferred fat consists of living cells, it can increase in volume with future weight gain, providing even greater gluteal projection over time.
